Monument Valley

Monument Valley on the Navajo Nation Reservation is what many consider to be quintessential America. The road that leads into the sunset will also lead you to your dreams of freedom. Called Tse’Bii’Ndzisgaii or, loosely translated, the place where streaks go around in the rocks, in the Navajo language, this is one of the most photographed places in the United States. The valley is a sacred place to the native peoples and it’s easy to see why. There is a hush upon the valley at sunset and sunrise and standing behind the Rain God Mesa in the late afternoon there is a sense of calm. One stands in reverence while observing the grand rocks.
