Black and White Cape Peninsula

I met a fantastic group of people at the workshop I attended in Venice in November, and we are still in contact. Long exposure black and white photography has become a new adventure, and I’ve been practicing and learning with every image I make. When one of the attendees from the workshop asked me if I’d like to join her for a weekend of photographing around Cape Town, I knew I had to say yes.

We did a lot of research before leaving and made a list of potential photo locations. Then we rented a car and by the late afternoon of our first day there we were already on the road. We visited the Waterfront and Signal Hill in Cape Town, headed north to Bloubergstrand and then south again with stops at Milton’s Beach, Maiden’s Cove, St. James, Kalk Bay, and the Slangkop Lighthouse. It was an amazing experience and one I surely will never forget.

I’m completely mesmerized with your photographs and have looked at them over and over! I’m so glad you got this wonderful opportunity, definitely an experience you’ll never forget. And how special that you have made new friends who share your same passion, all from the Venice workshop. I’m going to share your post with all my friends, I know they will love it as much as I do.

  3. I completely agree with the previous comments! Also, I especially like your photos of the rocks jutting out into the ocean and those of the clouds hanging over Table Mountain (?). They really capture the wild nature of the Cape Peninsula. Although brief, your journey was the trip of a lifetime.

    1. Thank you! Yes, it was and I continue to think about every minute I was able to spend there.
