During our stay in Belgium this spring, we spent a day in Bruges. It was one of the very few sunny days during our time in Belgium and we were so glad we were able to spend time in this beautiful city. It was a city flourishing with trade and the buildings show the wealth that was around. The old city center has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2000.
We first walked through the Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaerde before wandering around town, stopping for lunch and then spontaneously ducking into the lace museum, for which Bruges is known for. Until then, I hadn’t realized that making lace was an art. I now have a new appreciation for that technique. Before heading back to Brussels, we took a boat tour through the canals.
Oh my…do you know how excited I was to see an email from Capturing The Seasons in my inbox? And as always, it did not disappoint. Thank you for the tour of Bruges, I love the beautiful architecture of this amazing city.
What a lovely day in a beautiful spot! *Adds to my bucket list*
Your photos confirm what I’ve always read and heard about Bruges! It’s so beautiful.
