Arches National Park

The sun beats down and the orange formations stand there defiant. It’s hot and dry, and at first one may think it’s all just a pile of rocks. But take a closer look and there is more to discover.

While Arches is best known for the natural arches found there (hence the name), I think it’s important to look beyond them and look at the rock formations. So, walk beyond the turnouts and along trails. At every turn, there are faces and animals which seem to jump out at you and behind the next turn they suddenly look different and take on another form. The cat turns into a bird and the snail changes into a rabbit.
