Savor precious moments and commit them to memory.
I recently spent a week in Germany. It was both wonderful and stressful as I kept an eye on the list of designated risk areas, first not knowing if I would be able to enter the country and then not knowing if I’d be able to go back home without having to quarantine. It was worth it, though, because since then the lists have been updated. It’s quite possible I won’t see my family again for the holidays and maybe not even well into the new year.
This 2h walk around the Hopfensee near Füssen is perfect for savoring. It’s a flat walk weaving in and out of and across forests and fields. The mountains are always near, and the trail is at times right on the lake.
It was late afternoon when we started out and by the time we had made the full circuit, it was nearly dark. I love the light in the late afternoon and dusk as it bathes everything in a golden color.
I wasn’t the only one out taking photos of the beautiful evening, and there were a few grumbles as people got in eachother’s photographs.
And when the last light is nearly gone, there is still a peaceful feeling on the lake.

Danke! Ich konnte nicht aufhören zu fotografieren!
Oh my…these photos are breathtaking. What a beautiful, peaceful place to enjoy a walk, I wish I’d been with you to see this wonderful place. Glad you were able to go and get home because I’ve been hearing about all the recent changes in Germany regarding Covid.
So happy you scooted under the wire and got this beautiful trip! Plus, you saw blue sky. I’d love to take that walk around the lake and end it with hot chocolate.
Fabulous photos. You really took advantage of great light with beautiful clouds and the setting sun. I wish I could have been there with you on such a pleasant evening.
