Postcard from Muottas Muragl

After suffering from cabin fever due to Covid, I spontaneously decided to spend a couple of days in snowy Engadin. The weather predicted sunny but particularly icy days so I packed warm clothes and was off. I specifically decided to spend my time away in a place that would be away from any crowds. Restaurants are currently closed, but hotels are allowed to cater to their guests. That meant in the evening only the hotel guests were up on the mountain. It was heavenly.

After arriving, I headed out into the sun to walk the three hour Philosophers’ Trail. The snow-covered mountains were stunning.

The moments that were the most special were sunset and of course sunrise.

That looks wonderful. I am now living in one of the flattest parts of England. The house is 8.5m above sea level even though we are over 50km from the sea. To give you an idea of how flat it is; on the edge of the village is Hill House. It is 12m above sea level!

    1. Thank you, Vince!
An elevation of 8.5m above sea level is indeed very flat. Switzerland’s lowest elevation point is 193m!
