This “project” began as country after country closed down. Covid was sweeping across the world and suddenly we were asked to remain at home, unsure of what the future held for us. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to go out, I decided to bring nature in. My eyes became more attuned to the flowers in my garden, and I set myself a goal of making a bouquet every week on Friday. The flowers, grasses, leaves, etc. had to be found in my garden. I was not allowed to buy anything, but it was ok to forage things if they were in the near vicinity of my house (3 min walking distance).
Looking back on the arrangements, I remember noticing some plants for the first time in my garden. I remember getting over cutting flowers in my garden and bringing them inside the house, something I hadn’t done before preferring to let them shine outdoors. I remember some weeks being extremely difficult, not knowing what to put together.
Most of these were arranged for my own pleasure, but some were made with someone in mind, e.g. one was for a friend who loves purple, another turned out to be one for a friend who’s mother had just died and one was for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
The photos were all taken with my phone and are in chronological order left to right, top to bottom.
